Cincinnati Art Museum Accessibility Programs

Cincinnati, Ohio

The Cincinnati Art Museum has a vibrant and diverse offering of accessible programs.

  • Demonstration of a Touch TourTouch Tours are offered on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Learning + Interpretation departments work closely with our registrars and conservators to select the artworks.  Most are 3-dimensional sculptures.  Touch tours are led by specially trained docents, who provide verbal descriptions and guide participants through the process of seeing with their fingertips.  These tours are open to visitors with vision impairment, as well as their family members—however, it is only the guests with vision impairment who are able to touch the artworks.
  • American Sign Language Tours are offered on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m.
  • Connect, a program for adults with developmental disabilities, is offered on the 4th Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m.
  • Meaningful Moments, a program for people with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, is offered on the 1st Wednesday of each month.  This is a joint program with two other Art Museums in Cincinnati, and the location of the visit rotates each month.  The other two institutions are the Taft Museum of Art and the Contemporary Arts Center.
